Welcome to the Andover Careers Action website. This job club was set up in September 2010 to provide a meeting point for people in job transition or at risk of redundancy. We have been able to provide a series of presentations and seminars, contacts and networking opportunities that have helped people back into work.
We cannot provide you with a job and we cannot create a job for you. What we do offer is the opportunity and the tools to use the skills you already have to find and fix the job that you want. |
Andover Careers Action provides support and skills development for people in job transition or at risk of redundancy. Through regular meetings members have the opportunity to network and to support each other whilst refining their skills and gaining knowledge for the journey back to work.
Working from home on your job search, often devoting more hours than you did to your salaried job, can be lonely and soul destroying. The club offers a structured programme of coaching, training and discussion that will provide focus and help for the job search. The club is open to everyone but will probably be more suited to motivated, experienced people who would benefit from additional focus and support. Where possible the job club will help individuals access local businesses through recommendation, introduction or support. We are in contact with other job clubs within this Region and Nationally, through GB Job Clubs, providing a great deal of scope and coverage in club approach, atmosphere and meeting content. We meet in the cafe at The Lights most Thursday mornings starting at 09:30 through until 11:30. It is important to note that this resource is free to all members with specialists, experts and professionals giving their valuable time on a voluntary basis. In order to make this project work and to ensure that it has a sustainable future we need members and business volunteers to come forward. |
